Teaching Technical Work
with Honesty About What It Takes

our story

How Synapsy Came Together

Synapsy started from a simple observation: most people who wanted to learn Python and machine learning were not struggling because the material was too hard — they were struggling because the pace felt wrong. Courses moved too quickly through concepts that needed time to settle, or they offered so little structure that learners had no sense of whether they were on track.

A small group of educators and practitioners in Bangkok started discussing what a more considered approach would look like. They agreed on a few things: that feedback on real work matters more than automated scoring, that a notebook you actually ran and modified teaches more than a video you watched, and that the right question to ask about any course structure is whether it matches how learning actually happens.

Synapsy opened its first cohort in late 2022 with the Python Foundations course. The ML Pathway followed in early 2023, and the Deep Learning Bootcamp was added later that year after enough students from the first two courses asked for somewhere to go next.

The school is based at our office on Phetchaburi Road in Ratchathewi, Bangkok. All three courses are delivered online and are available to students across Thailand and elsewhere in Southeast Asia.

mission

What We Are Trying to Do

Plain Description of What is Included

Each course page says what is in the course and how much time it takes. We do not use language about what you will achieve or where it might lead.

Small, Readable Cohorts

Notebook submissions are reviewed by course educators, not scripts. Keeping enrolment numbers manageable is part of how we maintain that.

A Pathway That Holds Together

The three courses are designed so each one builds from the one before. A student who finishes all three has covered a coherent body of material, not a collection of disconnected topics.

AS

Ariya Suthiwong

Lead Educator — Python & ML

Ariya has spent eight years working with data pipelines in Thailand's fintech sector and now leads the Python Foundations and ML Pathway content. She writes the weekly exercise notebooks and reviews submitted work from both courses.

PK

Pichit Kangwanporn

Deep Learning Curriculum Lead

Pichit designed the Deep Learning Bootcamp structure and oversees the capstone review panel. His background is in computer vision research, and he has taught at two universities in Bangkok before joining Synapsy.

NL

Natthida Lertwattana

Student Support & Enrolment

Natthida handles enrolment enquiries and the day-to-day communication with students. She is the first point of contact for questions about which course to take and what to expect during the enrolment period.

How We Approach Course Quality

Annual Curriculum Review

All three courses are reviewed each year. Material that has become outdated or that students consistently find unclear is revised before the next cohort opens.

Data Privacy and Security

Student records are stored on servers within Thailand's jurisdiction. We collect only what is needed for enrolment and do not share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Honest Assessment Practices

Notebook feedback is written by the course educator, not generated automatically. Comments name what was done well and where the reasoning needs adjustment.

Realistic Time Estimates

Hour estimates per week are based on how long the material actually takes — not what sounds reasonable in a brochure. We update these when student feedback suggests the estimate is off.

Managed Enrolment Numbers

We cap each cohort so that the educators handling notebook reviews and office hours can give each student enough attention. When a cohort is full, we open a waiting list for the next one.

Working Code in Every Lesson

All example code in the recorded lessons is tested before the cohort starts. Notebooks are checked for compatibility with the Python and library versions students are asked to use.

our approach to AI education

What We Think Technical Education Should Do

Synapsy is an online school for AI development located in Bangkok, Thailand. We offer three courses — Python Foundations, a Machine Learning Pathway, and a Deep Learning Bootcamp — each designed to cover a specific stage of the journey from beginner programmer to someone working with neural networks in a practical setting.

The courses are built around the assumption that programming skills develop through a combination of reading working code, writing your own, and getting specific feedback on what is unclear or incorrect. That is why every course includes hands-on notebooks alongside recorded lessons, and why student submissions are reviewed by a human rather than scored automatically.

Bangkok has a growing community of developers interested in machine learning and data work. We have built the school to serve learners in Thailand who want a structured path into this area — people who prefer a careful pace over a high-speed overview, and who want to come out of a course with code they actually built and understand.

The Deep Learning Bootcamp in particular was designed with the local market in mind: it ends with a capstone project reviewed by a three-person panel of educators, giving students a piece of portfolio work they can speak to in detail. We do not make claims about where that work leads — but we have found that students value having something concrete to show and explain.

If you are considering one of our courses and are not sure which one fits where you currently are, the most direct route is to send us an enquiry through the contact form on the main page. Natthida, our student support lead, reads all incoming messages and responds on working days.
