Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 9 May 2025  ·  Effective date: 9 May 2025

Please read these terms carefully before enrolling in any Synapsy course or using this website. By submitting an enrolment, making a payment, or using the course materials, you confirm that you have read and agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Definitions

In these terms, the following words carry the meanings below:

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website or enrolling in a Course, you confirm that:

If you do not agree to any part of these terms, please do not use this website or enrol in a Course.

3. Service Description

Synapsy offers online courses in programming and applied machine learning, delivered through recorded lessons, written materials, and practical notebooks. The current course catalogue includes three programmes:

Course content, structure, and pricing may be updated from time to time. The details published on the website at the time of enrolment apply to that enrolment. Synapsy courses are delivered in English and are intended for learners in Thailand and internationally. No geographic restrictions apply to access, provided that local law does not prohibit participation.

4. Student Accounts

Access to course materials is provided through Synapsy's course delivery platform. Upon enrolment confirmation, you will receive instructions for setting up or accessing your account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us promptly at [email protected] if you become aware of any unauthorised use. Course access is personal and non-transferable; sharing credentials with third parties is not permitted.

5. Student Responsibilities

5.1 Acceptable use

You agree to use this website and course materials for lawful personal learning purposes only. The following are not permitted:

5.2 Technical requirements

You are responsible for ensuring that you have a suitable device, internet connection, and software environment (such as a working Python installation) to participate in the courses. Synapsy cannot provide technical support for individual hardware or software setups beyond guidance included in the course materials.

6. Intellectual Property

All course materials, including lesson recordings, notebooks, written guides, illustrations, and assessments, are the intellectual property of Synapsy. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use these materials for the duration of your enrolment, for your own learning purposes only.

This licence does not permit you to copy, adapt, republish, or distribute any course material, in whole or in part, without prior written consent from Synapsy. Work you produce as part of course exercises (your own code, notebooks, and project outputs) remains your own; by submitting work for mentor feedback, you grant Synapsy permission to review and comment on it.

7. Fees, Payment, and Refunds

7.1 Fees

Course fees are listed on the Synapsy website in Thai Baht (THB) and are inclusive of applicable taxes. Fees are subject to change; the fee displayed at the time you complete enrolment is the fee that applies to your enrolment.

7.2 Payment

Payment is required in full before course access is granted. Accepted payment methods are described on the enrolment page. Payment processing is handled by a third-party payment provider; Synapsy does not store full card details.

7.3 Refunds

A full refund is available if requested within seven days of enrolment and before the student has accessed more than the first week of course materials. After this period, or once materials beyond week one have been accessed, fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable Thai consumer protection law. Requests for refunds should be sent to [email protected] with your name and enrolment details.

8. Enrolment Terms

8.1 Course access period

Enrolled students have access to course materials for the duration of the course (8, 12, or 16 weeks depending on the programme), plus a further 4-week review period. Extended access may be available at Synapsy's discretion; enquire at [email protected].

8.2 Mentor feedback and office hours

Notebook feedback and office hours are available as described in each course's programme outline. Feedback is provided on submitted work within the course schedule. Synapsy does not warrant that feedback will be delivered within any specific timeframe outside the programme schedule, and mentor availability during public holidays may be limited.

8.3 Completion and certificates

Synapsy does not issue formal academic qualifications. Students who complete all required activities may receive a record of completion at Synapsy's discretion. These records are not accredited qualifications and do not carry formal recognition under Thai higher education regulations.

8.4 Academic integrity

Students are expected to complete notebook exercises and projects using their own work. Where collaboration or use of external resources is permitted, the course guide will say so. Submitting work substantially produced by someone else, or by automated tools without appropriate acknowledgement, is a breach of these terms and may result in enrolment termination without refund.

9. Disclaimers

Course materials are provided for educational purposes. Synapsy makes no representation that completing a course will result in employment, a specific salary, or any other professional outcome. The content of courses reflects the state of knowledge at the time of production and may not reflect the most recent developments in any field.

The website and course platform are provided on an "as available" basis. Synapsy does not warrant that access will be continuous or error-free. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Thai law, Synapsy's total liability to you under or in connection with these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant Course. Synapsy is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost data, lost profits, or loss of opportunity, even if advised of the possibility of such losses.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Thai law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Synapsy, its staff, and its contractors against any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the course platform, or your infringement of any third party's intellectual property rights through material you submit.

12. Termination

Synapsy may suspend or terminate your access to courses if you breach these terms, particularly provisions relating to intellectual property, account sharing, or academic integrity. In cases of serious breach, no refund will be issued. You may withdraw from a course at any time; refunds are subject to the policy in section 7.3. Provisions relating to intellectual property, indemnification, and dispute resolution survive termination.

13. Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. If a dispute arises, we ask that you first contact us at [email protected] to seek an informal resolution. We will aim to respond within 10 business days. If an informal resolution is not reached, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bangkok, Thailand.

14. General Provisions

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. If we make material changes, we will notify enrolled students by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the website or course platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
